HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT
one that will decide the next big energy source will be a choice.
The huge amounts of electricity, which is essential to human progress and is produced in three different ways: in power plants that burn fossil fuels, using alternative sources of renewable and nuclear power through fission. During the process of producing energy from the atom, by no means free from danger, they form highly dangerous radioactive waste, enormously long-lived and difficult and insecure storage. The energy produced by renewable hydropower, geothermal, biomass, biogas, wind, solar, tidal, wave and molecular dissociation, can cover only a portion of its total needs. The bulk of the energy is still produced in fossil fuel power plants that consume oxygen, removing it from the air. The oxygen is generated by photosynthesis, but is declining due the continued deforestation, and air composition is further altered carbon dall'anidrite developed by burning fossil fuels.
There is only one way to simultaneously produce a fuel, hydrogen and oxygen necessary for its combustion: the splitting of water, the use of these products, fuel and combustion air, does not significantly alter the composition of the air.
the dangers of nuclear power plants and waste they produce, the near exhaustion of oil reserves, the failure of those of methane and the low quantitative contribution of renewable sources, require the urgent choice of a new safe energy source. In the context of sustainable development, unless new discoveries of unlikely, possible available fuels, hydrogen result in reduced risks to humans and less environmental impact. Manufactured from a virtually inexhaustible source: water, whose division would have the advantage of also produce oxygen, hydrogen is, to date, an obvious choice.
